Christmas at the Capital

Boot Day

As the winter season rapidly approaches some look forward to holiday treats, hot chocolate, presents or curling up by a warm fire. Not Dan, he looks forward to boots...black leather boots. You could almost hear Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are made for Walking" playing as the ladies walked by an unsuspecting Dan who, at age 40, almost had a heart attack.

W+P Christmas Skit

From left to right: Kristi, Mel, Liz, Tom and Joe

The Tradition lives on!!! Each year the new employees (newbies) of Williams + Paddon must preform a skit. This has ranged from live performances to magicians, stand up comedy, and "celebrity" roasts. This year Kristi, Mel, Tom, Joe, John, Liz, Danielle and Ashley chose a video presentation rather a live skit. This is great because now we can share the hilarity of this tradition with the world. Thanks for the laughs!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition

For the 5 of us who participated it was a memorable day. We could handle being laughed at and ridiculed by our co-workers. What none of us planned on was the strange looks by other people in the building wondering, "what were they thinking this morning". Nothing like showing your holiday spirit with a gaudy sweater from your grandma's closet.

First Place : Brian L. sporting a extra wide, extra short Santa and Snowman themed monstrosity.
Second Place : Beverly... I'd swear she's worn that before...?
Third Place : Kim. Although she didn't wear the sweater all day, the hour she did was enough.
Forth Place : Amber. Funny thing is, some people thought this was cute.
Fifth Place : Rose. Thanks for playing but yours was not even close to ugly.

Special thanks to Beverly for organizing the event!

W+P Christmas Party

This years event was generously hosted by the principals of WP at Terry Green's house. It was a great informal gathering of friends to enjoy some good food, great wine and better conversation.

lots of food and LOTS of wine.

A Festivus for the Rest of Us

Festivus is an annual holiday created by writer Dan O'Keefe and introduced into popular culture by his son Daniel, a scriptwriter for the TV show Seinfeld. Although the original Festivus took place in February 1966 as a celebration of O'Keefe's first date with his wife, Deborah, many people now celebrate the holiday on December 23rd, as depicted on the Seinfeld episode "The Strike".

The Festivus Pole - Made of aluminum and is displayed unadorned.
Airing of Grievances - Each person tells everyone else all the ways they have disappointed him or her over the past year.
Feats of Strength - This involves wrestling the head of the household to the floor, with the holiday ending only if the head of the household is actually pinned.

Holidays = Gift Baskets

Jason caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Greg, Jessica and Brian W. stuffing their pockets.

We would like to thank all of our product reps, consultants and clients who shower the office with baskets full of goodies each holiday season. Here's how the process works.

Step 1 - Gift basket arrives at the front desk
Step 2 - Sarah (our awesome receptionist) takes what she wants first
Step 3 - Email sent out that there's free goodies in the kitchen
Step 4 - Half the office riffles through the gift baskets looking for the good stuff, the other half is too late and must eat the leftovers.
